· Registration $50.00 (1 meat) to $200.00 ( Includes all 4 meat categories)
· Cash prizes dependent on entries
· No electricity available
· Limited to the first 25 entries
Guarantee registration: pre-register by mailing form below OR
If space is available, register on site from 7:00am to 8:30am
· Cook-off begins at 9:00am
· Cook-off judging begins at 2:30pm
· Awards approximately 5:00pm

Wednesday July 1st - Schedule
- 10:00 AM - Early Bird Registration until 4:00 PM
- Contestants will check in and be assigned a cooking area. Contestants may begin setting up in their
assigned area at that time.
- Enjoy our Fairgrounds activities. You can register the next day if you come in after 4 pm.
Thursday July 2nd - Schedule
- 10:00 AM Early Bird Registration until 6:00 PM
- Contestants will check in and be assigned a cooking area. Contestants may begin setting up in their
assigned area at that time.
- Enjoy our Fairgrounds activities. You can register the next day if you come in after 6 pm.
- 7:00 PM - Mandatory cooks meeting. No exceptions. Each team must be represented. All teams
will confirm registration at this point.
Friday July 03rd - Schedule
- 7:30 AM Registration ends. All contestants must be signed in by this time. No late entries will be
accepted.

- 1:30 PM Backyard judge’s registration
- 2:00 PM Mandatory Backyard judges meeting

General Rules:
1.Each team will be comprised of as many members as you wish. One member must be designated Chief
Cook and will be the spokesperson for that team.
2. Each team will provide its own pit. You are not limited to one pit.
3. All cooking of product must be done in your allotted space during the competition. No precooking is
allowed.
4. Meat must be maintained at a temperature below 40 degrees Fahrenheit prior to cooking and above
140 degrees after cooking.
5. Teams may cook with any grill they wish – Propane, Wood or Charcoal.
6. Categories will be: 1. Chicken (chicken and/or Cornish hens) 2. Pork ribs with bone (no boneless ribs
allowed) 3. BEEF BRISKET: May be whole brisket, flat, or point. Corned beef is not allowed. 4. Pork
(Pork is defined as Shoulder or Butt).
7. People's Choice ( People's choice will pay $5.00 to sample taste test all contests that want to place
their BBQ in competition and the team with the most votes win. If you are interested in People’s choice
you will need to bring approximately 40 lbs additional meat of a category being judged. (Listed Above).
Cooking space:
8. Your area must be tidy and supplies should be organized neatly before,
during, and after the contest. Please be respectful to other teams and
their spaces. Please leave your space as you found it.
9. You may have one canopy, not to exceed 20’X20’.
10. Each booth must have a fire extinguisher.
11. Shirt and shoes are required.
12. No use of tobacco while handling meat.
13. Bleach water may be present in each booth for washing and rinsing of
utensils.
14. Excessive use of alcoholic beverages is prohibited.
Product submission to the Judges:
15. All entries will be submitted in a container supplied by the Organizer.
16. Portions submitted of each entry must be enough for 6 judges.
17. Garnish is optional. Garnishes are limited to fresh green lettuce or parsley. No exceptions. There
should be no aluminum foil, toothpicks, skewers or foreign material in the container.
18. Side sauces are permitted in the approved container.
Judging:
18. KCBS scoring system will be used. Points will be totaled and winners will be those with the most
points. Each category will be judged separately and winners will be determined for each category
independently.
19. All entries will be judged on appearance, tenderness/texture and taste.
20. All entries must remain anonymous to the judges so any marking to the containers are prohibited.
Other:
21. Prize money distribution will depend on the total number of entries.
22. There will be no refunds of entry fees.
23. Security will be present. However, each contestant is responsible for his or her belongings and first
aid.
24. A violation of any these rules may result disqualification if health, safety, or unfair competitive
advantage is involved. The decision of the judges shall be final.
